The WACS undersea cable has been damaged. An underwater landslide from the Congo River is the suspected cause. The cable break requires a repair ship to be dispatched. Estimated time to repair is 6-8 weeks, depending on weather conditions.
Expect higher than usual international latency in peak traffic hours (19:00-23:00).
